Summer Movements That Inspire

Summer Movements That Inspire

Our latest campaign, Summer Movements, takes its inspiration from leisure time, exploration, and care-free fashion. As we dial into our summer adventures this season, we’d love to take a moment to celebrate the journey and all of the moments in between. Step into summer movements with four of our favorite creators as they discuss their summer travel plans, style inspiration, and how they make time to explore.

Where are you going this summer?

By the end of summer 2022, I will have traveled to Miami, Cabo, and Italy.

How do you plan out your vacation looks and strategize packing? Do you usually have a specific vision or theme for looks?

Yes, I quite literally over-plan my outfits every vacation. I like to have fun and not have to worry about a photo or video every second. I research where I’ll be staying and what we’ll be doing and coordinate my outfits around that down to the pose. That way I can accomplish the shot, get my content out of the way, and enjoy myself.

How do the destinations you visit inspire your style and your creativity? What inspired you about this destination?

I am so inspired by architecture. Whenever I travel to a new city, I like to fully embody the city and its aesthetics.

What are your favorite ways to style your JBW during the summer?

I have three JBW watches and they’re perfect for every occasion. I wear my Mondrian 34 as an everyday watch. It’s so easy to dress up or dress down. Plus, I can wear it with both silver and gold jewelry. I wear my Cristal 28 for my fancy nights. But if I had to choose one watch to bring on every vacation with me, it would be Arc Single.

Tell us about your summer travels.

We just were living in Italy. Well, we're still living in Italy but we're in LA right now, so that's where I've been for the summertime.

How do you plan out your vacation looks and strategize packing? Do you usually have a specific vision or theme for looks?

I’ve got to give credit to my girl, because the thing about her is she's very good at planning. So basically, I'll make a mood board of clothes, and then I'll put it into Photoshop, and then we'll kind of just look at it and she'll reference it and I'll reference it. That made it really easy when I wanted to put things together. I would just get the reference and then I would find the pieces and go shop for them. And then boom, I have a look for wherever I'm going.

What are your favorite current summer fashion trends?

Okay, so my favorite trends right now are big shorts – like, really big shorts. Birkenstocks are just very simple, very clean, but kind of have a flair to them. Another trend I like is a flowy look,  very loose.

Generally what I'm wearing is more free. And it's not really inspired by millennials. It's more inspired by, like, the elders. Like somebody who dresses who's been around the world

How do you make time to relax, explore, and reset during the summer?

I kind of learned to just go with the flow and not really set a schedule. I value the time when I can sit back and just be, like, ‘Okay, I can control this moment.’

How do you plan out your vacation looks and strategize packing? Do you usually have a specific vision or theme for looks?

I plan out my vacation looks by thinking about where I'll be going (including all the activities, restaurants, sights, museums, etc.) and then using the places I'm visiting as a source of inspiration for coming up with a color palette and overall vibe of the looks I'm to going to style and shoot. For example, when packing for Tulum, I knew I was going to be by the ocean and in the jungle in a minimalist villa, so I opted for a color palette with blues, greens, neutrals, and a pop of neon green to add a summer-y and playful contrast. I then shop for outfits in that color palette, style head-to-toe looks, and take pictures of every outfit I want to wear or shoot and then put them in an album on my phone. This helps me avoid over-packing or losing time during vacation trying to put outfits together.

What are your favorite current summer fashion trends?

My favorite current summer fashion trends are oversized linen pants or cargos.

Tell us about the highlight(s) of this vacation.

This trip to Tulum was primarily to create content and spend time with a group of like-minded girls, so I would say the highlight of this vacation was connecting with them, learning from them, and getting to explore our creativity together.

How do you plan out your vacation looks and strategize packing? Do you usually have a specific vision or theme for looks?

I'm very strategic with my vacation wardrobe. I plan a theme, color scheme and even match my looks to the places I'll be going to.

How do the destinations you visit inspire your style and your creativity? What inspired you about this destination?

Each destination I go to usually reflects my personality. I'm a Gemini, so I have a really good time chilling by the beach just as much as partying. Ibiza is known for the club scene but is equally beautiful, serene, and peaceful.

What are your favorite ways to style your JBW during the summer?

My JBW pieces are the perfect pairing for my vacation looks because my Cristal watch is perfect for a night out with the bling and my gold Arc watch is a perfect statement watch for daytime looks.

How do you make time to relax, explore, and reset during the summer?

I struggle with knowing when to stop working, but I love to live in the moment and relax. Taking time to reset and disconnect by myself is really important to my mental health.
